_Country Music Television recently posted a Top 20 list of new independent music and a song from Farm County's ''Tribute To RCA Studio B' CD. Here's what they said...

"Give Myself A Party", a Don Gibson classic featuring Daryl Mosley was highlighted on a list that included Alison Krauss, Brian Setzer, Keith Urban and The Judds. CMT said, "This simple composition still rings true more than 50 years after the great Don Gibson wrote and recorded it. Farm County Jubilee rendered their nifty, bluegrass-inspired tribute at historic RCA Studio B. Whenever you're wallowing in pity, just cue up this old-school country tune.

The Farm Hands Quartet set to tour

Picture
(September 1, 2011)  In the tradition of bluegrass legend Bill Monroe's 'Bluegrass Boys Quartet', Daryl Mosley, Tim Graves, Devon Avery, and Jody Elmore have formed the Farm Hands Quartet.

They have now joined forces with Capitol Artists booking agency to schedule select public appearances in churches and Christian events throughout the U.S..

"Going back to my days with New Tradition, gospel music has always been a major part of our concerts, as well as a major part of our lives," says Daryl.  "It's exciting to be able to bring bluegrass music into places that may have never had a bluegrass group before." Tim agrees, "We are blessed in so many ways. We are happy to be able to get out there and do what we do. Doing concerts with the Quartet will be a lot of fun."

In the Studio...

In Nashville's Studio B
Daryl, Tim, and Jody were in Nashville's historic Studio B recently working on the debut release as part of Farm County Jubilee. The album is a bluegrass tribute to the historic studio, and the great songs and artists who recorded there.

The studio, originally opened for RCA Records, operated for 20 years before it closed to public recording in 1977. It is now used by Belmont University in Nashville for their recording industry management program, and tours of the studio are offered by the Country Music Hall of Fame. Very few commercial recordings have been recorded there since it's close.

Using the very same microphones that Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, The Everly Brothers and other legendary stars used, and without the benefit of auto tuning, or other computer assistance, the group is recording in the same way artists recorded back in Studio B's heyday. "You've got to bring your A game", says  Graves. "There is almost no separation, no punching or fixing after the fact. What you hear is a performance."

Mosley adds, "When you have a love for those songs and the artists that sang them they way the three of us do, it's such a humbling experience. When you are singing into the microphone that Elvis sang in, or Waylon, or Porter Wagoner, you want to make the best record of your life."

The album should be available by early 2011.
